Small business awards continue to play a crucial role in celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit, honouring exceptional performance and fostering growth. They provide recognition, credibility and motivation to entrepreneurs, employees and communities. Post launch in 2022, The annual Presidential SMME & Cooparatives Awards are back to acknowledging excellence and key role players in the ecosystem in support of small enterprise development. The awards are hosted by the Department of Small Business Development in partnership with the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda), the Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa), the European Union (EU) and 22 On Sloane. They aim to promote entrepreneurial activities through identifying, showcasing and recognising the best performing SMMEs, Cooperatives and Ecosystem Enablers in the country. 

Nominations for the Inaugural National Presidential SMME Awards are open and will close on Friday, 6th October 2023. To nominate an SMME, Cooperative, Financier, Ecosystem Support Organisation, Corporate in each of the various categories, please visit the departments SMME Awards website.
