The initiative is designed to help small retailers improve operations, expand their businesses, and compete effectively in the local retail sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>KEY FEATURES OF SSSF:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Funding up to R300,000 per shop through a combination of grants and interest-free loans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training and technical support in business skills, digital tools, inventory management, and financial literacy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assistance in meeting health and safety standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouragement to adopt digital payment systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bulk purchasing benefits through wholesale aggregation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>WHO CAN APPLY:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>South African citizens or naturalised citizens (prior to 1994).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shops must operate in township or rural communities and comply with local by-laws.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CIPC and SARS registration required depending on funding level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Owners must actively manage the shop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority given to youth (18\u201335), women, and people with disabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>FUNDING OPTIONS:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Up to R100,000 Package:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>R40,000 grant for initial stock.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R50,000 for infrastructure upgrades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training programs worth up to R100,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>R100,000 \u2013 R300,000 Package (for registered entities):<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Same R40,000 stock grant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to R250,000 (50% grant, 50% loan).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training programs worth up to R100,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>HOW TO APPLY:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are processed via the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) and the Small Enterprise Development Finance Agency (SEFDA).
