{"id":11967,"date":"2021-04-26T21:35:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-26T21:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kasibiz.co.za\/?p=11967"},"modified":"2021-05-10T22:01:40","modified_gmt":"2021-05-10T22:01:40","slug":"11967","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kasibiz.co.za\/?p=11967","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Department of Tourism has allocated R189 billion for resuscitating small businesses hit hard by COVID-19 travel restrictions, following cabinet approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fund is one of the interventions and enablers outlined in the Tourism Sector Recovery Plan aimed at helping the sector to recover in the short-term and achieve long-term sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tourism has a wide value chain that stimulates economic activity in other sectors such as services sector, creative and cultural industries. The COVID-19 pandemic has plunged the industry into an unprecedented crisis. There has been massive job losses at local level, as a result of distress businesses in the sector are facing. Small and medium enterprises are the worst affected, with many are facing the possibility of permanent closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tourism Sector Recovery Plan is one of the vehicles through which economic transformation can be achieved, Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane said, \u201d The Recovery Plan contains a set of interventions to protect and rejuvenate supply, reignite demand and strengthen enabling capability to support the sector\u2019s recovery.
