The largest black-owned private healthcare operator in community townships, The Clinix Health Group, has started construction of its seventh hospital that is set to be a modern wonder to community healthcare.

The new hospital will be named after the late medical pioneer and anti-apartheid icon, Dr Nthato Motlana and will boost the Group’s footprint to include 1 700 beds around South Africa. The hospital is situated opposite Protea Glen Mall and will boast quality facilities that include an adult ICU ward, a radiology unit, an integrated theatre complex, a maternity ward and many other rooms.

According to Dr Mashadi Motlana, a member of the Clinix Health Group’s board of Directors, the new facility’s main focus will be on women’s health care.

An important acknowledgement is the potential of the hospital in bringing new employment opportunities for the residents of Protea Glen and neighbouring communities. Community upliftment is the foremost ethos of the Clinix Health Group.

The Health Group has come a long way since its first hospital in 1994. It now has six (6) existing hospitals providing the very best medical care around the clock and is well-known for delivering quality patient care and superior service. In 2017 alone, the healthcare group treated more than 76 000 patients, and delivered 3 669 babies. To that end, we are also adamant about employing from within the community. To date, 95% of the Clinix Health Group’s nursing, cleaning and administration staff come from the local communities.
